Conductor joins Meta, sets November 20 cloud shutdown

Conductor Cloud becomes read-only on November 13. Its local app has a longer support window, but moving work to a Mac changes how agent sessions run.

Conductor announced on November 4, 2026 that it is joining Meta, with its cloud coding service scheduled to close on November 20. Its release notes put the first cutoff a week earlier: cloud workspaces become read-only on November 13. Developers using those workspaces have two deadlines to plan around.

Conductor is an interface for running coding agents in parallel. Its documentation lists Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode, with a separate workspace and branch for each task. The application also helps users review changes and move them into pull requests. That makes the shutdown a workflow issue for anyone keeping unfinished agent work inside it.

Move work before the cloud cutoff

The migration instructions give users two options. Right-click a cloud workspace and select Transfer to local to move it and its chats to a Mac. For a full data archive, use Settings → Account → Export data.

Keeping an archive and continuing a task locally serve different purposes. If you need to resume unfinished work, check that the transferred workspace contains what you need before relying on it. These are the company's documented steps; we haven't tested the transfer or inspected an exported archive.

Local sessions depend on your Mac

The Cloud FAQ says cloud agents can keep working after the Conductor app closes. Local sessions end when you close the app or shut down your Mac. Moving a workspace therefore changes where the work runs and how long it can continue unattended.

Conductor's support schedule promises new models and critical bug fixes for the local app until early 2027. That gives existing users more time, with a defined limit on the stated update commitment.

In its announcement, Conductor says it expects something new early next year, without explaining the product. Watch for a concrete replacement and migration details. For current cloud users, the published cutoff dates remain the basis for deciding when to move work.
